Spanning Fine Art, Film and Music, Oxford Brookes University offers world-class degree courses, Masters  and PhD opportunities, Foundation Art & Design and innovative short courses. Our specialist research units including Social Sculpture and Sonic Art are renowned for their unique and interdisciplinary approach to contemporary arts practice. The School houses world-leading researchers in Popular Music, Operatic Studies and Popular Cinema.

Combining the academic rigour of a traditional programme with practical and vocational components, arts students at Oxford Brookes are well placed for a variety of careers in the creative sector. Our location provides access to some of the world’s best libraries and research facilities, including the Bodleian library, Modern Art Oxford and the Ashmolean Museum. Researchers in the Department are engaged in activities as diverse as writing about the films of David Lynch and Pedro Almodovar; to curating cutting edge arts events; and analysing the music of Radiohead and Puccini.

Study the arts at one of the country’s leading centres for teaching and research in creative practice, where creative practitioners and writers about the arts and culture work closely to create a stimulating environment.
