The Confucius Institute is supported by a team of academic and professional services staff.
Angus Phillips is Head of the School of Arts and Director of the Oxford International Centre for Publishing Studies. He has degrees from Oxford and Warwick universities and, before joining Oxford Brookes, he ran a trade and reference list at Oxford University Press. He is the Editor-in-Chief of the premier publishing journal Logos.

Xiaohong Fan is Vice President of Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press and President of FLTRP UK Ltd. She obtained her MBA degree from Renmin University of China. Her fields include digital publishing, trade publishing, ELT training for young students and creative undertakings.

Spring Zhang obtained an MSc in E-Business and Innovation Management from Lancaster University and an MSc in Educational Research from the University of Manchester. Prior to joining Oxford Brookes University, she was the office manager and Chinese Language tutor at the Confucius Institute at the University of Manchester for seven years. She has developed innovative learning methods and teaching materials during her teaching experience.

Mei Di holds master’s degrees in English linguistics and business administration from Soochow University and Peking University in China. Prior to the current position, she has been working for the Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press for 12 years, mainly in the section of Chinese language teaching and publishing, and has fulfilled a variety of publishing and training programmes.
