Dixieland went off with a bang and a roar as a cohort of Brookes' music acts entertained a crowd of 400 students, alumni and staff. The 1920's theme was met with great enthusiasm, and this combined with the decor, music, and bar produced a thoroughly enjoyable evening with a vintage atmosphere.

The return of Rough Sax, Honest Mort and Save the City (some of the Ensemble Performance bands of yesteryear) was a highly appreciated and welcome addition to a programme already bursting with talent. The coupling of each band’s performance of a popular 1920’s cover with the fantastic jazz playlist provided by our in-house expert ensured that the toes of the guests were always kept tapping, and guessing.

With more Dixieland events being planned for the future varying in theme and format, those that attended this time can anticipate bigger and better things to come - and for those that missed out this time you'll just have to wait and see.
