Stephanie Reed

Before you came to Brookes what did you study and where?

I was studying languages at high-school in Italy.

What made you choose Brookes as a place to study?

I decided to come to Brookes because the Publishing course here is one of the best in Europe and the modules all seemed very interesting.

What do you think of the course now you’re here?

I have only just started here, but so far I am learning a lot of very useful things that are proving really valuable for my job. It is definitely opening my mind a lot and making me think about things from a different perspective.

What are your plans for when you’ve completed your course, for work or further study?

I am currently the editor-in-chief of my own online fashion magazine, which I set up one year ago, after having worked for three years in the world of fashion as a journalist and a stylist. I have been working on it every day together with my team of journalists, photographers and graphic designers. What I hope is that this course at Brookes will provide me with the right tools to take my magazine “to the next level” and after I have completed my degree I plan to open an office in London, and make my business grow.

What are the best bits of studying at Brookes?

Getting to know a lot of interesting people that have the same passions as you.

What advice do you have for others?

Try different things, get involved.
