Relaxed evening at first Café Diffusion

Those who attended the School’s Sonic Art Research Unit’s inaugural Café DIffusion event in Brookes’ Union Hall in June, enjoyed a fun evening of electroacoustic music, sonic art and conversation. The audience, sitting around bistro-style tables, were able to listen to the sound diffusion, listen closely using the headphones supplied or their own kit, or just chat amongst themselves.

As well as sounds from the 60x60 project (with 60 pieces of music, each lasting no more than 60 seconds), the programme included works by Harriet Butler, David Carugo, Darren Copeland, Stephen Cornford, Paul Dibley, Rajmil Fischman, Diego Garro, Geoff Geer, Brett Gordon, Iain Harvie, Jonty Harrison, Tim Howle, Andrew Lewis, Adrian Marchant, Alistair MacDonald, Adrian Moore, Rick Nance, Antti Saario, Nikki Sheth, Robert Scott Thompson, and lots more... Visuals were by Adrian Pawley.

Audience members described the evening as ‘an excellent event’.

Watch out for another Café Diffusion event soon!
